The Quiz
When players log in, they are placed in a fully accessible information page designed to motivate them to keep playing and achieve regular targets. Players using NVDA can navigate the page using 'h' to jump to the headings or 'b' to jump straight to the start button. Once the start button is pressed a clear audible fanfare announces the start of the game. Questions are presented in a clear bold form for students to type in the answer. Players using a screen reader can use Caps Lock + tab to repeat a question.
Players have up to three attempts to answer the question. The quicker they are the more points they get. A high pitched bell sound is heard when a question is correct and a low trumbone sound indicates a wrong answer.
Questions are selected from a live deck and as players answer questions correctly, the questions are frozen out and new questions added from higher levels. I am adding new levels as I need them for my classes, but the current levels are:
